US-based Veradermics reports a statistically significant improvement in hair growth after just two months in a study evaluating VDPHL01, an extended-release tablet being developed to treat hereditary hair loss.

The first study, a Phase 2/3 trial, included 519 men with mild to moderate hereditary hair loss. After six months, the number of hairs in the target area had increased by an average of 30.3 and 33.0 hairs per square centimetre, depending on the dose. In the placebo group, the increase was 7.3 hairs per square centimetre.
